The Love Of My Life

The day I met Snuggles, I knew we were soul mates. We had an instant bond that has only grown over the years. Snuggles has been my companion for the past 5 years. He moved with me from KY to Charleston, SC in 2004 and then back to KY in 2006 without ever complaining. As long as he is with me, he is up for doing whatever. I couldn't ask for a better dog. He doesn't potty in the house and has never chewed up anything and he is my best friend.

I do have a confession: I am a push-over when it comes to Snuggles. I do not know how to say "no" to him. Snuggles, being the genius that he is, is very well aware of this fact. He is actually the boss in the relationship. When Stephanie or I are doing something that does not please him, he tells us about it by barking and growling excessively at us. He also has severe separation anxiety. I have to throw a treat in the opposite direction of the door when I am leaving or else I get attacked by this 4 lb ball of fur, and trust me, it is not pretty. I have also never informed him that he is only 4 lbs. Because of this fact, he thinks he is a pit bull and when we go on our walks, he likes to inform any and all passing canines that he is in fact the biggest and baddest dog around. I can not bring myself to tell him any different.

We lived next door to another little poodle named Dozer. He was actually a little bit smaller than Snuggles (I didn't think it was possible either). He and Snuggles tolerated each other, at best. Dozer used to come over and come inside our house every once in a while. We think he did this to annoy Snuggles. We have not lived next to Dozer for over a year now but I can still ask Snuggles where Dozer is and he looks at the door and growls. Did I mention he was a genius? In the spirit of Halloween, I have posted of picture of Snuggles in his very appropriate Halloween costume as a devil.
